Blatant False Advertising

On the 15th June I visited the new Oudtshoorn outlet and noted the Father's Day special of 30% discount expiring on the 15th June on their fleece zipped jackets at the entrance. At the time I thought I would take up this special and purchased one of the items. I then paid for the item and noted that I was charged the price on the label which was R749.00, I enquired with the cashier and he indicated that the discount was already worked into the price. I thought this a bit odd as they would then need to change the labels on all these items the next day. On the 16th June I went to the same outlet and noted that the special sign had been removed but yet the price of the jackets was still R749.00, I then spoke to a different assistant in the outlet and she said I did receive the discount as the normal price is over R900.00 and they still need to change the labels. I then went onto Cape Union Mart's website and noted the price was R749.00 with NO discount shown. A week later I went to a different outlet and also noted the price as being R749.00. I then emailed customer services and they responded about two days later with a form of an apology and said my complaint had been forwarded to the manager and area manager. I then received a call from a Karin I believe, she initially informed me that I had received the 30% discount and then when I confronted her on their website showing the R749.00 she changed what she stated and apologized, she then went on to say that the next time I purchase something from their outlet she will make sure I get a discount on that item. I found this unacceptable as I now must purchase something else to receive the discount I should have got on the original item purchase. I then emailed customer services again on the 25th June and am yet to receive a response. Although an avid Cape Union Mart customer this will have been my last purchase from them. I am offended at first for being **** to and secondly the false advertising . Think twice about buying anything from Cape Union Mart especially when they are promoting specials.
