6 weeks of driving back to forth, phone calls and still no watch strap!

My son wanted to order a watch strap for his Runnner 2. We went into the CUM at Canal Walk and spoke to Keanau who said it was no problem that it would take 1-2 weeks. We told him our colour choices which were very broad. (anything except purple or pink) and waited for the call to come and collect and pay for the strap.

A week later he called to say that if we wanted to order the strap we needed to come into the store and pay a R200 deposit. This already annoyed me as CW is 20kms from our house and we were certain that we wanted the strap - why didnt he ask for the deposit on Day 1 when we were standing in front of him?

Two weeks later I finally had a chance to go into the store and pay the deposit. Keanau wasnt there but I paid and got given a receipt for a green strap as according to the store manager now this was the only colour available (remember, we dont really care about the colour unless its purple or pink.)

10 days later I got another message from Keanua now saying that I needed to come in and collect my R200 as they dont have any green straps but if I wanted a blue and white one I can call him back.

Long story short after 3 - 4 calls back and forth and sometimes being passed on to 3 different people in the store, I still dont know if we are getting a strap or not? Why is it so difficult to order something so simple? How many times do I have to drive into Canal Walk ? My petrol will be more than the ultimate price of the strap?

Also, in my last call with someone at the store, they were extremely unhelpful - I am still waiting for the promised call back.

Keanau called me back personally - he apologized and offered me the strap for free.

Thanks for the response Cape Union Mart but specifically, Keanau.

I also just want to say that even though Keanau was the person I initially dealt with and who should have asked me for the deposit right there and then - I was more annoyed by the way I was handled by the other staff whose names I unfortunately don't have.
