On 28/10/2025 I sourced the services of Cape Town City movers to move household items between Cape Town + Aston Bay. I completed Quote Acceptance @ R8900 and Martin informed me to pay deposit ASAP to secure part of the shared load. Deposit was 60% of quotation, I paid R5340+ balance was due prior to furniture being loaded on 31/10/2025 @ 10.00. He still confirmed that truck will load on above date+time. On 31/10/2025 I was up @ 05.00 to be On Time, when loading takes place. By 10.30. No truck, no information on why they're late. After 11.00 I contacted Martin.. he was not at work and/or not available. Spoke to a Chris, who informed the truck is still loading at Parklands, they are running late, but will soon collect my load. After 2pm.. more excuses, by 4pm.. I learnt that they cannot collect my load anymore, as the Parklands client booked the whole truck, and my load is no longer scheduled. They were trying to secure another shared load for Sunday 02/11/2025, when my stuff can be collected + delivered. I explained to Chris, that this is Unacceptable, as my lease expired on 31/10/25 + where must I find place to store my furniture on such short notice + how am j going to explain to my landlord that I'm not sorted, since he had new tenants for the apartment I rented.. New tenants moved in on 01/11/2025. So, I became "homeless " because of Cape Town City movers within a few hours.. All packed up + nowhere to go. I requested their assistance, as they created the challenge I experienced, but they were of Zero Help.. Just adding more excuses, as If I was wrong + this Chris Right. Then Chris promised to secure another shared load for Saturday 01/11/2025 @ 13.00, which was a Big, Fat Lie too. Friday after listening to all Chris + his stories, I had to find alternative storage for my furniture, hired a trailer + two guys to load my stuff and deliver it. I incurred additional emergency expenses, which were unforeseen. Storage, diesel for bakkie, trailer hire + labour'charges. Sunday Martin Van Vuuren aka Martin Luther rocked up, using Chris phone + told me to find alternative transportation, as they have Zero trucks available. to collect + deliver. According to him, their accountant was going to refund my monies on Monday 03/11/25. Money still not reflecting, after the company was paid on 28/10/25. Zero services rendered.
