Arrogant promises but shocking quality and bad attitude

We paid this company an 80% deposit to install a ceiling in our high-end bathroom.

They did not finish at the time they hoped to finish but we were happy for them to make another appointment to complete their work. The work as far as it had been completed was skew, buckled, corners were far from square and huge gaps were left in the pelmits that were supposed to be boxed out. Owner Tommy Enrico came for a site visit and gave us no time to explain our issues but talked right over us, holding forth about his excellent service, and how the mess his team had left in our house (cretestone over floors and plants) was unacceptable and that they could either rip out the ceiling and redo it, fix it, or refund us.

However, Enrico insisted that this had to be completed the next day only, when the premises were not available. He refused to come any other day that would suit us. Only after considerable pressure and pleading - and after HIM threatening US with legal action - Enrico agreed to return another day.

After his team were done on the second attempt, the ceiling was looking even worse than before. Enrico did not have it replaced as promised but an amateurish fix was attempted. The pelmits had been left unskimmed. We could show with squares that our walls were square but his ceiling was so skew that on the one end of the room, the ceiling came up against the wall but on the other end we could insert a hand in the gap between the ceiling and the wall.

We provided Enrico with photographs of this - also of the general mess left behind on our floors that was even worse than before. Enrico agreed on the phone that he would return to inspect the situation but two days later broke this agreement, refunded us a partial amount and refused to visit to view and/or fix the shoddy work. Because we had already paid an 80% deposit, we are left still paying 50% of the bill for a ceiling that is of such shocking quality that it will have to be ripped out and replaced.

Throughout this process, Enrico was bombastic, arrogant, provocative, and threatening.

We would have let this matter rest if Enrico fixed the problems or refunded us in full but we have ended up paying for a product that is of such poor quality that we cannot use it. We have photographic evidence of all of this.
