Cape Town holiday accomodation cancellation

I have booked an accommodation place in Aug 2023 for Apr 2024. I paid the required deposit in Aug 2023 and the balance I paid a month before I checked in. Upon my arrival I was told that they had double booked the place and my booking was cancelled on the spot, I was then refunded.

On a separate booking which I booked in Jan 2024 for Dec 2024, the booking was cancelled in Oct 2024. I paid the full amount of accommodation in Jan 2024. Both bookings were booked through two different travel agencies. It seems the Cape Town holiday accommodation have a new trend of accepting bookings and then later cancel it. This is causing an inconvenience
