NAPIER TO GRABOUW
I am disappointed. I have used Cape Removals before and probably rated them five stars then. This time, however, I cannot admit to being impressed. The van was supposed to be in Napier between 9 and 10 am; they arrived closer to 10.20 am. The van packing went fairly smoothly. Just outside Caledon, as one joins the N2, the driver was pulled over for ignoring a major stop sign (apparenty the driver negotiated the fine down to R1000.00). I carried on driving, but got lost in Grabouw itself and when I arrived at the destination, the removal men had unpacked almost everything -- without any instructions from me to do so. Some 90 percent of the furniture and boxes were in the wrong area. I have had to use our farmworkers to move everything. This was totally unnecessary: this was the responsibility of the removal guys who are paid to do this work. I have found that one of the solid brass handles on a wooden kist has completely broken off. Should the removal men not brought this to my attention? My clothes rail is broken. I am almost too despondent to continue unpacking ... 2 and a half stars from me.
