<p>Cape Medical Plan Preferred Supplier is GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL !!!</p> <p>I am not sure how we got here, but from an “Elite” hospital plan that use to cover 200% of tariff, and 14 days in a mental facility we are still paying the same premiums, but being told that hospitalisation for Bipolar type 2 has to be done at a GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL, because the state facility is now the PREFERRED SUPPLIER !</p> <p>I was previously also told to get bipolar type 2 medication from the government hospital for my PMB, but they only have anti depressants available that causes mania and hypomania.</p> <p>60% of the dr’s left Westville life hospital, and moved to Hillcrest hospital. Both the Surgeon that did my Rupture appendix, and my gynaecologist moved to Hillcrest hospital. I was previously treated at Westville Life hospital, and hospital contributions were covered in full but these dr's didn’t have rooms at Westville anymore, and I had to pay in for both the hospital and dr account for a colonoscopy and bladder procedure because Cape Medical Plan does not cover Hillcrest hospital rates.</p> <p>… So what do you do ? Just move on to whoever the new PREFERRED SUPPLIER is, and hope there is a decent gynaecologist that can pick up on a history of torn colon and ****** at childbirth, with colostomy bag and reversal. Are PREFERRED SUPPLIERS dictated at a specialist level too now ?</p> <p> I needed to be admitted to St Joseph Entabeni Life hospital after I couldn’t afford to pay for the PMB medication myself, and my husband was told that the account is for him to pay, they will only pay R 1600 per day towards the cost. Reason being the PREFERRED SUPPLIER is the GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL. I ended up discharged, back at home, without the correct medication because I can't afford the treatment.</p> <p>So I have to pay R 4000 per month, my own bipolar type 2 medication, and then go the GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL ?</p> <p>I do however have a hard time picturing myself in King Edward hospital in Durban…</p> <p>Why don't you rather organise a hitman to take me out quickly.</p> <p>Cape medical plan, WE CARE (but not about you PMB patients)</p> <p>GAP cover is only offerred to the healthy patients</p>
