I called out Cape Leak Detection to find an unidentified leak on my property. I paid R1000 upfront prior to the visit of the 'leak detector'. A report was supp**** showing me two spots where there were 'burst pipes'. They quoted for the repair, but as their quote was expensive I used a contractor known to me who had recently done good work on the house. Holes were made into both spots identified in the report. There were not only no 'burst pipes', there were no pipes in the spots identified. This cost me R2500 plus R1000 to have the leaks identified. The leak was finally tracked down to a faulty siphon that had recently been installed in a toilet cistern that had been leaking. Once this had been replaced, the water usage went back to normal.

I reported that there were no \burst pipes"to Cape Leak Detection but have had no response."""
