Cape Jewel Paarl Mall BAD BAD SERVICE
I wanted to surprise my wife with a ring for Christmas. I had an absolute worthless stone with a lot of sentimental value. I decided to make use of Cape Jewel in Paarl Mall. We discussed how the ring should look (my wife like fine jewelry). The ring was not ready for Christmas. I hoped the ring would be finished on a special occasion...January with the birthday of our daughter...or February with the birthday of our son...or June with the birthday of our second daughter. None of these dates materialised. Every time I went to the shop the staff would make empty promises of phoning me back. Wednesday 24 June I went there in the hope that it would be ready for my birthday, the 25'th. Once again no luck. I requested to have the stone back or the ring completed by Friday. Today (Friday), I went to the shop for the I don't know how manieth time to be disappointed again after I miraculously received a phone call that the ring was at the shop. On arrival I was notified that the ring is not on site. The staff finally made some calls to find out when the ring will be ready and informed the ring will be there soon. The phone call went something like this..."I just want to know if Viljoen's ring was picked up by ???. The guy is here". Really? The guy??? Very unprofessional. Well, I just arrived at home to receive the phone call that I can collect the ring from the shop. On arrival I was utterly shocked when I opened the box to see nothing that we discussed how the ring should look like. It was big and bulky and bling! I didn't know if I should laugh, cry or swear!!! I decided to go with the first option. Then the lady tried to convince me that there was no other way that the stone could be set to make it work and she acted surprised when I said it is nothing like what we discussed. She responded with "It wasn't me whom you spoke to when the design was discussed". I was SO DISAPPOINTED with the service and the end product that I initially requested her to remove the stone from the setting that I can make the ring at another jeweler...BUT then I thought to myself it might probably take another 6 months before I get my worthless, but sentimental, stone back. I paid for the ring to end this misery! I wish I never walked into Cape Jewel's door and am bitterly disappointed!!!
