They're great in most aspects except when it's responding. I stay in the greater Waverly area in the more suburban parts where there are alot of trees.
Due to the many trees we always have branches and other items falling onto our electric fence and it trips the alarm. The control center will call and (because we're in south africa and it's not safe) we ask them to send a vehicle to do a perimeter search just to ensure it was definitely a branch or something of the sort touching the fence. They take so long to respond that, by the time they would have arrived, the "intruder" could have broken into the house and, G-D forbid, killed us.
There was even an incident where a car drove into our wall and, obviously, the electric fence was broken causing the alarm to go off. We were too busy tending to the broken down wall that we left out phones in the house and the control center had left us missed calls however no vehicle was sent to check on our well being.
We had to call CAP to send a vehicle so we could show them the damage and to talk to the guard doing the night shift in the area to keep a very close eye that no one goes near the hole in the wall as we could only get it repaired the next day. It's took 3 phone calls and pressing the panic twice to get a car to respond and hour later.
There was someone, however, obviously drunk sitting outside their house calling for someone so I called cap as the calls sounded like that of pain... they responded in less than 2 minutes.
I just don't understand as the guards change shift up the road from my house so therefore it should yield fast response times.
Just truly sad
