Canon i-SENSYS MF645Cx

I've always been a fan of Canon products but my latest experience will make me think twice before purchasing Canon products again.

I needed a printer to work from home and purchased a Canon i-SENSYS MF645Cx A4 Colour Multifunction Laser Printer from https://www.printerland.co.za. The purchase was made on the 8th May 2020 and it arrived on the 13thMay 2020 - so far so good.

On the 19th May the printer started reporting that the cartridges that came packaged with the printer were not genuine parts.

On the 20th May the the printer started showing an E*** error and was unusable.

I immediately contacted PrinterLand who referred me https://www.partserve.co.za, Canon's tech support people.

When I felt it was safe to do so during lockdown I dropped the printer off at the Port Elizabeth Part Serve offices, 80 km away, on 27 May 2020.

Tomorrow is a month that Part Serve has had my printer; a brand new printer that worked for exactly one week!

Ten days ago after repeated messages on their jobs portal I received a phone call saying that parts would only arrive after the 30th June. I explained that I had only used the printer for a week and needed the printer to for work under lockdown. They suggested I email them requesting a new printer. That was the last I heard from them. We are four days from the 30th June. I guess they were just marking time.

Canon you need to seriously think about who represents your company, especially in these difficult times.

What's worrying now is that the Job Tracking portal no longer lists my printer on their system; not that the tracking portal provided much information anyway.
