Bought a Canon G3400 printer in 2016. Was printing good for two years till I got the message "Waste pads full". Phoned Canon Paarl and was told to take it to Inknet in Paarl to have the inkpads replaced. Got the printer back after two weeks and was told they don;t have the program to reset the printer. Tried first to reset the printer, but realized that it has to be done by Canon. Phoned Canon again and was told they will send it to Partserve. When I got the quote from Partserve, it mentioned that the mainboard is blown and both printer heads need to be replaced. While I was trying to reset the printer, it did print reports and I can't understand why there's so much faults on the printer all of a sudden. It was printing fine when I got the message about the inkpads. Now they want me to pay for faults I don't know when it occured? Had 3 experiences in the past with older Canon printers. As soon as the waste inkpads are full, the motherboard goes. Had taken it up with Canon and they agree it was a problem and it should be rectified in the newer models. That was about 15 years ago. If this is the same case, then Canon has become the worst printer one can buy, or I'm the unluckiest person with Canon printers. Feel like I wasted a lot of money on a product that is getting worse with each new model. No wonder the reviews from USA show that Canon has become an instant printer. It only works till the pads are full and then they expect that you must go and buy a new one. The G3400 ain't cheap and I expect more from Canon. Very disappointed on the moment and quite furious.
