Canon Online Help Line just a Con

My Canon printer was not working so I went onto their online help site. The online agent told me I would be transferred to a technician for a cost of R15. i was transferred and gave my details for the R15 which was deducted immediately swiftly followed by a deduction of R599 for a company called Just Answer. Surely Canon must realise what is happening to their customers
