Canon G3420 won't connect to WiFi - it's so fussy!

I have a Canon G3420. Not a great printer. Difficult to connect it to Wifi (was always like this), we moved cities and now it really won't connect, or be 'found' from phone or laptop. Can't use a cable to over ride. Called the support centre *** and they made me hold for ages. It also hasn't got quality printer. Wish for my very old HP laser jet that just printed when it was told.
