Camera Clinic Musgrave- OVERPRICED, *********

Just to let people out there know. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE. I took my Canon 500Dcamera in on the 15/6/22, after the cleaning cloth got stuck on the spring on the Mirror Body & pulled the AF spring, one arm only out of place. So my camera could still manually focus but the AF did not work. Few days later I got a watsapp from Nick, stating that the Camera was interfered with & damaged the AF. Cost to repair & service the camera & lens would be R 5860. I told him how can this be soo expensive when a 2nd hand costs R 2500-R3500. Either way I rejected his quote & paid the R200 rejection fee. When I collected my Camera, it was not the same as dropped off. The Spring was completely out & lying at the back of the mirror body & my Camera could no longer manually focus. When I showed Nick the spring lying loose, he could not be bothered that he did not put back the camera the way I gave it to him. I was furious & walked out. I later found on the internet, CAMERA TEK IN JHB (The official Canon Agents in SA) & called them. The technician there was extremely helpful & told me to drop the camera off in Umhlanga & it will be sent to JHB for analysis. He also explained the 500D no longer has spares available. Yesterday CAMERA TEK has fixed my Camera for R1000 incl a minor service. Both AF & MF work 100%. I must say CAMERA CLINIC in Musgrave has no business Ethics & overcharging people for small faults. DO NOT SUPPORT CAMERA CLINIC in MUSGRAVE.
