************ service provider

I have been with CAMAF since beginning of last year, I was very happy with my Discovery Medical Aid but had to move to CAMAF as a result of the company I moved to, I am pregnant and just realized that although I am paying around R2000 every month I am only entitled to 2330 annually day to day benefits. What happens to the rest of my contribution for the year? I know that CAMAF has covered its basis and is covered legally somehow but this is day light *******, it is also not good business practice as it exploits people at their most vulnerable. I am 4 months pregnant and therefore have to visit my gynae every month, what am I going to do with a lousy 2330 for the year? what am I paying for exactly? I have money deducted from my account every month to cover my health needs and my benefit for the year equals one month's contribution, I am sorry but this maths is just messed up and CAMAF is just enjoying fat profits while customers suffer. I miss Discovery, I was a valued customer, CAMAF is just a useless service provider! Would not recommend it to anyone

Hello jramanyimi,

It appears that you are not informed with regards to your benefit entitlement. We note that you downgraded your option to one of our lower options which offers limited benefits for day to day cover. Despite this, the R2330.00 is not your only benefit. In respect of your day to day cover the following are applicable: a defined radiology and pathology benefit, extensive preventative wellness benefit which cover consultations with GP/Specialist, dietician, dentist, optometrist consultation, immunizations, various screening tests and unlimited hospitalisation. A list your benefit entitlement specifically related to your pregnancy has been made available to you. These benefits which include a breast pump and apnoea monitor which can be claimed effortlessly in your last trimester from a pharmacy, following your registration on our mother to be program.
We will also arrange for one our Relationship managers to contact you to discuss these benefits in more detail.
