**** of a medical aid and hospital plan
My company is unfortunately requested all it’s employees to be on this lie of a medical aid. Wanting a hospital plan that would pay for my treatment in emergencies and hospitals was what I wanted. Even though I thought it was a cheek that it had to be a Netcare hospital, I signed up for Network Choice believing their lies.
Fast forward to last week Friday. I incurred a traumatic fall outside my flat with a suspected broken ankle. I went all the way in extreme pain to a Netcare hospital so I could get treated. I give them details and they proceed to treat me and send me home with pain****ers and anti inflammatories. Me, believing that this is a hospital plan, stupidly feels safe that this **** of a medical aid will pay for my in hospital treatment.
Today I get told my claims have been rejected because despite me going all the way to a Netcare hospital, my EMERGENCY ROOM GP that consulted me was not on their list of network doctors? I’m told that out of my entire R1300 hospital bill, incurred in the hospital THEY told me to go to, I’m liable for close to R1000 of this? Constantly looking for ways to avoid paying claims - you may as well not have a medical aid. They want to guzzle down premiums but won’t pay a cent. If I could save one person from signing up from this **** of a medical aid I would.
