Not life threatening enough
I joined Camaf in 2017. I incurred various problems during the first year mainly relating to them not wanting to pay for blood tests when I was referred to the lab by a locum doctor who operated from the doctor on the networks rooms. The true challenge was however in 2018 I had a bone lodged in my throat. As I was part of the Network Choice plan I was rushed by a friend to a Network hospital where I was attended to by casualty doctor. As this was an emergency situations various tests were conducted including x-rays and blood tests. Luckily the bone was removed from my throat and I felt that I was ok to leave the hospital and head back home. Once the bills came Camaf declined to pay for the blood tests and they stated that the ICD10 code submitted by the service providers were incorrect and did not indicate that this was an emergency. With the little knowledge of ICD10 codes I have, I liased with the service providers who indicated that these ICD10 codes were correct. Yet again Camaf refused to make payment. in 2019 I again queried this and was told that the reason that payment was not made was the fact that I was not admitted into the hospital after the incident and was therefore liable for the payments. Was I meant to force to be admitted so that Camaf can pay the full bill of an emergency procedure? A days after leaving the hospital I was I was admitted as the bone had done damage to my throat, yet again I incurred additional medical bills which had short falls that I am to date still paying.
