If its not non claims payments then it will be REFUND issues - ****, ****!!!!
I moved to CAMAF, FORCED by my employer about a year ago. Since that time I have never received any joy from them. So in the latest event, I have decided to leave the scheme, and guess what they say, you firstly have to place a calendar month's notice, which I believe is ridiculous, and secondly, the SAVINGS THAT I HAVE BEEN PAYING, WITH MY MONEY, I have to wait MONTHS to get it. So, they SAVE your money and make a lot from it monthly, and when you want it back, you have to wait to get it back. When I moved from Discovery about a year ago, I requested to termination, in days it was approved and my SAVINGS were paid 48hrs, I repeat, 48HRS after I placed a notice, not after I left, after I placed a notice. This is by far the worst choice I have ever made in my LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Day Siyabonga
I would like to apologize for your dealings with CAMAF being unpleasant, it is certainly not how we want our members to feel
With regards to the MSA refund, unfortunately, it is not a CAMAF rule, but it is a rule in conjunction with the Council for Medical Schemes
There is a mandatory 4 month waiting period as per the Medical Council of schemes, www.medicalschemes.com.
The refund will be processed from the second week of the 5th month after the membership was terminated.
This is to make allowance for valid claims that might still be received by the scheme during the membership.
Please also note that you would need to complete an MSA Refund form that can be found on our website http://www.camaf.co.za/forms/
