Buyer - Be AWARE!

We purchased a vehicle from Callabee Automotive on 12 January 2026, which was paid for in cash in full. Upon collection of the vehicle, we were assured that the registration documents would be provided within two weeks, or no later than 21 days. Since then, every follow-up has been met with promises of “next week,” none of which have materialised. In April, due to the ongoing delays and lack of transparency, we visited the Traffic Department ourselves to establish whether there were indeed registration backlogs. After checking the system, the official informed us that there were no such delays on their side. More concerning, the vehicle was still registered under WesBank, indicating that the funds we paid for the vehicle had not been used to settle the finance account as expected. As matters currently stand, we effectively have no legal claim to the vehicle we purchased, as ownership still rests with the bank due to Mr Callakoppen’s failure to settle the account. We subsequently approached him and requested a full refund so that we could purchase another vehicle elsewhere. Unfortunately, even regarding the refund, we continue to receive ongoing excuses and daily stories relating to “bank clearance,” with no resolution in sight. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating, misleading, and unacceptable. Today is the 5th of June and we continue being told never ending next weeks. This business is run by a ***** who pretends to be a nice guy. I would not advice to buy anything from this dealership, who knows what other shady things they are upto, mileage reversal and accident codes ETC. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!
