Burned cake

I ordered a cake on Thursday the 05th October 2023 a fruit ghetto cake. when i got home when it was time to eat the cake on saturday evening only to find out that the cake the bottom and the top has been burned and it was covered by the icing or cream. my guests on the day ate a burnt cake. i contacted the shop on monday to let them know what had happened and i was told i need to bring the old cake back for them to refund me or get a new cake but how when i have explained that we only saw the cake late that it was burnt and that time i could not have told my guests not to eat the cake and now i do not have the cake that they want me to bring back. They did not offer any compensation on my issue and i have send the pictures of the burnt cake and what's left of it. i was not happy with their service and to think other branches offers such delicious cakes and best service.
