Unpleasant Taste in Cakes from Cake Zone Maponya Mall

Kindly note there's an ingredient in your cakes that's not so tasty, as a result it ruins the quality of your amazing cakes.

I love your cakes and this irritating ingredient is consistent as this is not the first time we taste it in your cakes, we've been brushing it off but we can't anymore. It tastes like too much baking soda/tartaric/salt-ish taste which completely changes the take of the flavor of the cake.

We really love your cake but this taste just changes everything about the cakes.

The above is a message I sent to Cake Zone on Tuesday 18 June 2024, after buying 3 cakes from them on Monday 17 June. I sent the cakes back as per their instructions to send it for inspection, they came back Thursday morning 20 June saying

"I trust you are well, we received the cakes yesterday n was investigated, but unfortunately, they found nothing wrong with the cakes"

I told them I'll fetch the cakes and there were unnecessary back and forth excuses, this morning Friday 21 June 2024,

"Hi, I was just informed that the cakes were sent to the branch" which is Cake Zone Maponya Mall in Soweto.

We buy cakes from Chateau Gâteaux, Mother Hubbard, Fournos, Woolies to name a few but we've never experienced this distaste in a cake than needs to be sweet, smooth and mouthwatering.

If this salt-like taste is their signature taste they should just be open and not say, there's nothing wrong with their cakes. Can there be a professional checking this cause we can't be sold nonsense and be taken for granted.
