Cake Zone Orange farm/Eyethu Mall

Good day Sir Madam

I was in cake zone Eyethu Mall Friday the 9th to buy a cake for my daughter’s birthday and I got a humiliation for days

I entered the shop before closing time 05:57, Checked pricing from the left shelf to the right shelf, immediately I got into a call with my wife for better selection, while I was on a call a shop assistant lady by the name of Samke approached and my response was I’m on a call. Call ended and I was asked to rush as they are about to leave, explained to her that I am already on the shop making my choice of cake, she understood, assisted to carry the cake to the counter and a shocking of my life I was advised that they cannot assist since they are or already closed the till. Explained that I was on the shop before it was closed and I was never given a chance to, The lady by the till with another lady with blonde hair ganged up on me saying they have families awaiting for them at home, unfortunately I boiled up and later asked if I will pay cash or card my reply was either way I can pay while the lady by the till was telling me on how much I am wasting her time as she has to do the rebalancing or cash count she mentioned. I had R200 cash I was told they do not have change, unfortunately I have to come back the following day “bearing in mind to Eyethu Mall only single trip is 25km I explained” we exchanged words and Samke the assistant was willing to assist and even find change for me and the lady by the till insisted that I do not respect them and their time. Asked how so do you start balancing while I am doing price comparison and double responses was from the laddies I never looked like some wanting to buy and wasting their time by checking the prices as if I do not know my budget and what I want. Security was called upon his arrival I asked him politely not to take side’s before I am chased and all he said aggressively he was doing his job as he was request and I am being a problem, he wanted to drag/pull me out and asked him not to touch me because I not a ****, another security was called and the guy was polite and even apologised and I left the shop

I later called the shop and the lady whom refused to tell me her name picked the phone and advised that she will not assist with the shop managers/owner contact details due to the security reasons.

I have never felt so useless and treated like a **** “called security to come drag me out” in the name of buying my daughter a birthday cake. Arrived before closing and asked to apologise for wasting their time. Bryan Mabunda ***
