Gearbox Disaster

After 4 months the gearbox of my car was still not working. Numerous promises were made-I count about 90 whatsapp messages was send to mr Coetzee the owner during this time. Sometimes more than a week passed by of which there was no news from him about my car. According to him the gearbox was removed," fixed"and replaced three times. Every time with a different fault. The last time the gearbox was removed according to him was by a gearbox technician at his place because he said they didn't fix it properly and has to remove it again-they denied it. Eventually he said the gearbox was fixed but he then had to test the car properly by driving it around for about 200 kilometers. I stay at Thabazimbi and my car at mr Coetzee's place in Randfontein. I was desperate to have my car back and decided to see a lawyer. They send mr Coetzee a letter requesting all the invoices and reassurance that the gearbox was in working order. They gave him three days to respond of which they then will get a court order against him. He didn't respond. I also send him emails of which he ignores. I then decided to go to Randfontein and see for myself what was going on. I let mr Coetzee know that I will come and collect my car on Tuesday the 27th June but because I was suspicious about everything I decided to go instead on the Monday. Nearby Randfontein on Monday I not surprisingly received a voice message from mr Coetzee that he took my car for a wash and guess what.... not far from his place on his way to a washing bay the gearbox again gives a problem. So he said sorry but the car won't be ready Tuesday for me to collect. At that stage I was nearly at his place so I parked on the sidewalk next to his place. I asked him "what now" his answer was that he is now going to look if he can see what was wrong and he also contacted the gearbox technician because the gearbox has a guarantee for six months. I was looking at my car from the sidewalk and there was nobody busy working on it. The car was full of dust and rain marks with no hand marks anywhere to be seen and signs that it was recently being worked on. The car was behind a palisade wall and gate. Somebody came to the gate and said mr Coetzee is not at home he went to buy parts. So it all was lies. After threatening them they called him from wherever he was and after a while he came speeding, stop in a hurry, don't even look at me and just said he will pay back the money from the parts that I have already paid to him-R8700-and then they start towing my car out on the sidewalk. He was clearly unpleasantly surprised to see me because I was supposed to come the Tuesday. Family of mine also comes to assist me and help to count the money. It was R1000 short but mr Coetzee already drove off and the gate was closed again. We had to get a flatbed truck to remove my car. The battery was flat and couldn't be charged. I had to buy a new battery. So they couldn't at all drive the car to be washed or test. Everything was lies and what I called *****. They only open up where the gearlever is and it was still opened. Mr Coetzer blocks me on his phone. Apart from the discomfort of not having a car for 4 months I have lost R1000, had to buy a new battery and pay for a flatbed to remove my car. On second thoughts I doubt if this is a registered business but hope this could prevent anybody else to make use of this business in Randfontein.
