*******
Buzz Movers (Strand) helped us to move from a house in Somerset West to another house in Somerset West. BUT when we unpacked we noticed that they stole 5 of my husband swimming pants, which is a couple of thousand' lost, out of a drawer that they didn't wrap. SUPER disappointed as the owner didn't do anything about it. We called several times. They said the workers haven't done it before and later on that many people are claiming *******, they can't believe everyone. They were speaking out of different mouths, lying.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that you feel disappointed, and we want to place on record that we do take any allegation of theft extremely seriously, and we take strong against against any such employees.
After you reported the matter to us, we immediately initiated an internal investigation. This included interviewing every team member who was present on the move, obtaining written statements/affidavits from the full crew, and reviewing the circumstances relating to the items alleged to be missing from the chest of drawers/drawer in question.
We would also like to clarify our standard operating procedure: it is company policy that items are wrapped and protected before loading, and our teams are instructed not to load items onto any truck without appropriate wrapping. In this instance, the team further confirmed in their statements that, to the best of their knowledge, all items loaded for your move were properly wrapped in accordance with our procedures.
As part of our efforts to assist and to try establish facts, we also offered to arrange polygraph testing for all team members involved. This was suggested as a practical way to support the investigation in the absence of physical evidence. This option was unfortunately declined.
We must also be transparent about the constraints we operate under: in terms of standard HR and labour practices in South Africa, we cannot lawfully take disciplinary action against employees, nor can we make findings of guilt, based solely on an allegation without supporting evidence. Doing so would be both unfair and ********. Likewise, without evidence that confirms wrongdoing by our staff, we are not in a position to approve a refund for the alleged items.
In addition, based on our experience, we receive a small number of “missing item” or suspected theft reports each month, and in the overwhelming majority of cases the items are later found and the matter is confirmed as a misunderstanding or false alarm. For this reason, we have to apply a consistent, evidence-based process before taking action against any employee or approving any compensation. This protects both our clients and our staff and ensures we act fairly, lawfully, and responsibly.
That said, we are still willing to assist constructively. If you are able to provide any additional information that can help substantiate the claim (for example: proof of purchase, photos showing the items prior to the move, confirmation of exactly how many items are missing, or any other objective supporting detail), we will gladly re-open the matter and reassess it.
We understand how upsetting it is to believe personal items have gone missing, and we regret the frustration this has caused. Our intention throughout has been to investigate responsibly, act fairly, and follow a process that is consistent with the law and with ethical business practice.
Kind regards,
Buzz Movers – Management / Complaints Department
