Good day, My name is Nicolene, yesterday I had a booking at the Butcher Block Sibaya restaurant, this booking was made on Wednesday. I got to the restaurant at exactly 18:30 (according to the reservation that was made). I had to wait for my table that was "supposed to be ready for me" because I had made a prior reservation. My family and I were then led to our table, we sat there for 20 minutes until our waitress arrived to take our drinks order, nevertheless we ordered our drinks and meals at the same time to speed up the process. We waited for another 20 minutes before our drinks could come to us. We then waited for another half hour and noticed our food had not arrived yet. This is now almost an hour since we have placed the order. I then went to look for the manager because our waitress was busy serving other customers with their meals who had arrived at the restaurant after us. I found the manager and advised him we had been waiting for over an hour for our meals for almost over an hour, he then followed me to my table as he needed to see where i was seated. I mentioned to him that I am not waiting for my food to just give me the bill for the drinks because I was utterly appalled by the service that I was receiving. All he said to me was "OK" then left. Keep in mind the restaurant was not busy so there was no excuse that they were too busy hence the delay in service. Another 15 minutes has gone by and there is no sign of our waitress or the manager, my dad had eventually found another staff member and had relayed the same message to him as we did the manager and he said he would be back. Another 10 minutes had gone by and eventually we picked up our bags and proceeded towards the door. So happened that the staff member was furious at our waitress for not serving us all the while we were waiting. We said to him we are leaving and we will never return to Sibaya Butcher block, we were all the way from Kloof which is an hours drive away. We wanted a special mothers day supper for my mom. Unfortunately because of it being so late and we couldn't get a place to eat at that hour we were forced to go home hungry. I am extremely upset this will not be the last place that I sent this email to make people aware of the ********** service that we received at your restaurant.
