Unsafe Hospital because of Nursing care

Today was a horrid experience, which I never ever want to go through again.

Busamed Hillcrest has got brilliant surgeons (most of them) Paediatricians and a Maternity where anyone is working incredibly hard, but the various wards & staff are letting them down. I had an amazing surgeon, an excellent anaesthetist and theatre team.

The staff in the Surgical ward were so bad at Hillcrest Busamed, that there is no ways I will ever go back. I had very low blood pressure and low oxygen levels. (Not that it seemed to worry any of the staff). There was this one African lady (not even a nurse, whom has been there for only 3 days without training anywhere) and they let her take vitals from patients, but she, by her own admission didn’t have a clue what she was doing. I never saw them wash their hands once as they came into our ward.

There was not a single (not one) panic button for any of the patients in the ward. The excuse was that other wards come and “***** “ them. That’s just shocking. I was incredibly nauseous coming out of theatre, and there was no way of calling anyone.

The air conditioner did not work, so it was extremely hot. (A breading area for bacteria)

There was not a single fully qualified nursing sister in the ward. Is this Private hospital now becoming a training hospital? 🤷🏻♀️ There were not even any Indian sisters, or any white or coloured nursing staff. Please explain??

ps. It’s not my first experience. My son nearly passed away in ICU a few years ago. A family member in ICU became sicker and sicker and eventually passed away.
