Handed my name to debt collectors

I received a call from the trauma department at Gateway Hospital that my son, Monde is sick. They said someone saw him having fits and took him to the Gateway hospital because he works in a call centre there. I told them that Monde has epilepsy and can they please take him to the public hospital, reason being he is still on waiting period from my GEMS medical aid. After a few minutes the doctor called me and i explained to her again that i wont be able to pay the charges for a private hospital. I continued to tell her that epilepsy takes about 30 minutes because I normally lay him down for 30 minutes when he gets the fits at home. After some time, somebody else calls me and tells me that the doctor has prescribed the MRI scan and its about R15000 because i dont have Medical Aid. I told them that i dont have that money and that Monde is being treated at King Edward Hospital for epilepsy. After some days GEMS calls me telling me that they have received a claim from Gateway Hospital saying Monde was admitted and that the diagnosis is diabetic. I told GEMS that no, Monde is not a diabetic patient he has epilepsy as i have stated when i app**** for him. This made me wonder why they changed the diagnosis because it was epilepsy and i found this a *****. Even for admitting him after i have told 3 of them that Monde is not on Medical Aid and he is still on the waiting period. So now I'm receiving various calls from Attorneys saying I'm owing the hospital. When all of this happened with Monde being admitted in the hospital I was not even in this Province, i was in Joburg. I am now thinking of involving Ombudsman . Regards ZN Xulu
