Disgust and disbelief at negligence at Busamed Umhlanga

Good Day Everyone !

I would like to use this platform to express my utter disgust , Disbelief and horror our family has experienced with Busamed Umhlanga. I lost my aunt on the 8/8/2021 at this hospital due to the negligence and unskilled employees that work here . My aunt went in for an ablation surgery on the 28/07/2021 and was discharged from this hospital on the 31/07/2021, upon returning home , she did not seem quite right - coughing / fever / chills - So her husband - My uncle decided to take her back for a check up on the 01/08/2021 where a covid test was done and later it was found that her results was positive ( Mind you she had already passed this virus on to her daughter & Husband whilst she was discharged and home 31/08/2021- 01/08/2021 - however she was re admitted on the 01/08/2021 - as she had just had Ablation surgery and had now contracted Covid 19 from this very same hospital . The messages we retrieved from my aunts phone tell a very different and scary story - compared to what the nurses told my uncle and other family members that called to check on her - Every time we called we were assured she was doing well - oxygen levels were 95 and she was gona make full recovery according to telephonic converstations with the sisters in charge in the ICU - Little did we know - My aunts last message to her sister inlaw who is also in the medical field was " I CANT BREATHE " on Wednesday 4/8/2021 - Other messages from my now late aunt complained about the hygiene of the bathrooms , about nurses not changing gloves and PPE , about how they put a sick person next to her and she wanted them to move her! Mind you - This was a heart transplant patient that survived for 17 years after her transplant! fast forward to 07/08/2021 - My uncle collapsed in his home due to a shortage on oxygen - He was picked up by an ambulance and rushed to Alberlito Hospital in Balito - where a Covid test was done and it was later diagnosed he also wasa positive so he was put onto 2 drips and then s end home to Isolate and recover - This made him weak and drowzy so he slept in till 8am on the 08/08/2021 - however when he awoke - he called the hospital to check up on his wife , He was was in utter shock and horror when a nurse from this Hospital informed him " We do not know WHERE Mrs Chetty IS????!!!! Seriously ??? JHe was then informed that they will look for her and call back - panic set is deeply as my uncle wondered how a private hospital could lose track of his wife ... They never called back - However he did call back 20mins later where the Nurse responded " DID YOU NOT GET THE CALL ? SORRY WE WERE BUSY - SHE PASSED ON" No compassion - no remorse ... this is how the news was broken to my uncle that his soul mate was now no more ....I cannot even start to imagine what he felt at that moment! Further to this - a week after my aunt passed on I called to arrange to collect her belongings - Sister Stevens had no idea where her Items were , After much frustration, my aunts belongings were located ( 1 week later) . I personally have been in contact with the ICU Unit manager who at first seemed to be helpful at first - only to turn around and throw the POPIA act against me as i am my Aunts niece=- She prefers to speak to my uncle who is clearly not in the right state of mind - He has lost his wife of over 30 years and they expect him to understand and accept their negligence , We were denied a conference call with our family medical representee- I have emailed them again with an Affidavit signed by my uncle giving a family member consent to ask various Questions to which we have still not gotten a response ( To indemnify this POPIA act they talk about) . My advice to anyone wanting to use this hospital - If you never want to see your loved one again - Send them here as for me - Im not done with them I want further investigation into the death of my aunt - In my closing statement Id like to add that I have spoken to another patient that my aunt befriended at this hospital - She also contracted Covid and a bug after this surgery - But was protocol followed? Had these patients that came out of heart surgery been tested for Covid maybe the outcome would have been different!!! =My family was even denied communication with my aunt.
