For the better part of two years I was under intensive care for stage 4 cancers, Ebstein-Barr Virus, septicemia, multiple organ failure, among others. At one point I was in an induced coma for a number of weeks.
During these two years 3 accounts fell into arears: Vodacom, and Standard Bank. I went to my local branches and explained what happened to me and asked for my accounts to be closed. Standard bank displayed some humanitarian qualities and closed my account and wrote off the outstanding fees that accumulated. Everything was taken care of within a matter of 15 minutes. Thank to staff at Tyger Manor.
It has now been more than 12 months since I have been trying to get my Vodacom debt cleared. I had to deal with Burnard Raaff & Associates who handles Vodacoms collections. They had no sympathy for the challenges I was facing and even though they were well aware of the fact that I only had an apprentice ship position they continued to report me for 3 missed payments during 2020.
After a full year and working my way back into society with a salary I finally managed to track down my consultant at Burnard Raaff & Associates. No effort in communicating my troubles to Vodacom was shared with me. Due to this reflecting on my credit report I hardly qualify for library card never mind a lease or a loan. I settled the full two months ago exactly and nothing has happened.
Appalling service and results. Stay away.
