Shocking service from Burgess
We sent a Kwikboil for repairs. It was returned and found to be inoperative. According to Burgess the installation of the machine was incorrect. It is almost impossible to install the machine incorrectly. We waited 2 months for the professional installation instructions. The installation is almost identicaI to a dishwasher or washing machine. ie Water supply to water inlet, waste pipe to waste, and plug into wall socket. I installed water supply to the inlet solenoid, and plugged it in. The lights came on, but the boiler didn't work because no signal was present at the inlet solenoid. That means water could not enter the boiler, and with no water present, the machine will not function. We returned the boiler to Burgess who found additional faults. Burgess replaced the following items: PC Board, 2kW element, Thermistor, Level sensor probe, tap assembly and solenoid at a cost of R4283.75 ie almost every consumable part on the boiler. I sent it back to them, to be told we were abusing the machine, and that more parts needed replacing. I don't believe them. They still have the boiler, and that the boiler had more parts that needed replacing.
