We arrived at 7

We arrived at 7.51am with our form already completed and handed it in for a chest x-ray for my daughter. Only at 8.27 my daughter was seen - after I asked reception why the wait is so long and only 3 patients in the waiting room.

Dear Larina

Thank you for taking the time to send us a review.  We take these very seriously and note where we can improve on our services.  I have reviewed your specific case.  Yes, upon arrival at 7:51, you needed to first fill in forms and then had to be captured on the system.
When a room becomes free, then the patient is taken in.  At our practice it's our policy that we don't take prior appointments for X-rays and patients are put on a first-come first-served basis.  The reason being is that we always need to give priority to Casualty / Emergency patients first.  They are brought in directly from the Wards / Casualty department.  This was the case this morning as we had a number of patients to do before you daughter could be done.

The normal waiting time is approximately 30 minutes once your forms are handed in.  If there are no Casualty / Emergency cases, we take patients in as soon as the rooms become free.  Our lady at reception did go to the back to speak to the radiographers once she spoke to you, and they took your daughter in as soon as the room became available.

Kindly note also that the other patients that were in the waiting room with you this morning were booked for other procedures such as a MRI, Mammogram and Ultrasounds (not X-Rays).

We do sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to you.  Trust you understand the situation that transpired during your visit.

Warm regards
Dr Wim Burger
