DR BURGERS RADIOLOGISTS you guys are a bunch of *******!!!!!!!!

DRS Burger Radiologist

i was referred by the doctor to get some x rays done, was referred to the ****mers "Dr Burgers Radiologists at Olive dale hospital" Upon my arrival when i walked in i was greeted by Romeo who asked me to complete a document and asked for my medical aid info, while doing this i asked Romeo to check with my medical aid if they are going to cover the costs as i am not prepared to pay and willing to wait out the time to see if i get worst Romeo agreed to this.

I left my details with my card and went to sit in the waiting area, it was a busy time for them (Wonder how many people are now been harassed to pay accounts) a good 10 mins has passed and Romeo signaled for me to come and collect my card which i proceeded to do. i asked if all in order he confirmed yes. i was now to put at ease knowing that my medial aid covers all costs as this was my request and didn't see a need to re-ask the same questions because i was given the green light by Romeo.

Fast forward some 3 months i am now sent lawyers letter and demand letter with threats that i am going to be handed over.

DR BURGERS RADIOLOGISTS you guys are a bunch of *******!!!!!!!!

Dear Sumeshan
As all our interactions are recorded and the notes are on our system, we investigated this situation.  As per protocol, when it comes to X-rays / Ultrasounds, we would always submit these to your medical aid, and if there is a shortfall or anything is owed, you will get the account sent to you. You, as the principal member of your chosen medical aid, always bears the responsibility of knowing the inclusions and restriction of your chosen medical aid plan.
That aside, we can check for your on the day, however,  your medical aid is also very clear about the fact that it's never a guarantee of payment as there may be other costs that you have incurred (i.e. pharmacy / GP costs / Lab costs)  that go to the medical aid that can deplete your savings.
On the day you came to us for two separate x-rays, and an ultrasound.  It was submitted accordingly and the outcome was that only one of these x-rays was covered by medical aid, and the other x-ray and ultrasound was not - hence you owe the payment of these. This is a medical aid decision - not ours.  Irrespective if you have an authorsation or funds available on the day,  payment is never a guarantee as the medical aid takes the final decision - based on your plan and your savings, if any are available. Your specific medical aid is managed by Discovery Health and they take the final decision once we have submitted your claims.  Your plan only covered one of the X-rays and it did not cover the rest.
You are welcome to contact your medical aid regarding this outstanding account - what was covered and what was not.
