NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY.

Friday 06/03 we Ordered a 2 for R100 meal, Chicken sandwiches. when we arrived home and started eating the rolls used for the Chicken Sandwiches were stale. I jumped on the phone to call the store we ask them what we should now do, they told us to bring the stale rolls back to them immediately and they would investigate the product. We refused because this is now costing us our time, our fuel and we live more than 5km away from the store and it was already 9:30pm. I called customer care and they were not able to assist me, only telling me that I can lodge a complaint against the store and expect to receive feedback from the store within 48hours or a can call the store again and complain. Wasted R100 on a meal that we did not end up eating and had to cook in any case.

Saturday 07/03 when my partner went back to the store to take the matter further, the manager was not in. we called customer care again and nothing was done.

Sunday 08/03 - wee called the customer care line again and this time insisted that there be an immediate solution. the customer care representative promised to call us back and this time he actually did, we were old that the store will contact us shortly. We then did receive a call from the store manager BUT..

So the manager asks us why we did not take PHOTO's of a STALE BREA****L!!! we told her we did not take photos of a stale bread roll, because nobody can see that a roll is stale from a photo. She then told us in that case she is going to close the case as resolved. we insisted on our money back or a meal replacement but were refused. after my partner had then threatened to take the story to social media, the manager then said that we can collect a replacement meal, here is the catch, she made it very clear to us that she herself would have to pay for this replacement meal. WHAT NONSENSE is that.

When my partner arrived at the store, this manager walked out from behind the counter opened her wallet and handed him a R100 note and told him that he can now purchase the meal that she has to pay for. my partner refused as this was probably one of highest level of unprofessionalism that anyone has seen. Please note that this was done in front of all the staff in the store and a store full of customers.

ALL we wanted from the start was an apology, a simple apology! But instead from the very first call we felt like we were *********, trying to rip the store off with R100. all we received was attitude and very lastly public humiliation from the store manager.

Burger King will never receive our support again.
