***** by burger king
On this day, 13 January 2024 I went to the Burger King Drive and the ***** I experience is unbelievable.
Burger King charged me for my order and transaction went through successfully, and they told me it declined yet on the machine it showed “approved” and on the app it showed that transaction is successful. I was then told I need to swipe again and so I did using a different card and the transaction was successfully “approved” as it read on the machine but the lady at the till tells me it’s declined again.
With this I then requested that they give the to receipts that shows that my transactions were declined or successful. They then advised that I need to do a third transaction of the same order and this is when I refused to swipe the third time considering that the 2 transactions were successful. At this point the manager, Yolanda Zulu came around and told me I cannot get a receipt but I will need to leave and come back after 7 days for a refund if the transaction has not been reversed. This is when the manager called armed response to remove me from the Burger King arbour cross.
I asked the manager that we need to have a written confirmation of what transpired and what Burger King will be doing to resolve the issue but they then refused to print our receipt that shows the declines transactions and refused to give me a refund even though I presented proof that both transactions were successful.
Since we were not being assisted and we have already paid I then asked the manager why don’t they refund us our money with the proof presented, and they can take the the vehicle details along with my ID, and license and my sworn statement that should the transaction be reversed by the bank then we will have to transfer the money back to Burger King or we will have to come back to pay the money to avoid legal actions. The manager responded with that “this is not Burger King’s fault or problem and therefore Burger King will not refund us or entertain the matter until 7 working days after to show transaction status”.
My question was then who will pay for my time and petrol for driving to Burger King only to be insulted, humiliated and disrespected by the Burger King staff, manager and the armed response team? The response of the sworn Burger King representative in the capacity of store manager I was told that “this is cyber problem and not a Burger King problem and they cannot help us with this issue”
I have never been so disrespected like this in my life after paying for my meal
