Burger King Pietermaritzburg Undertrainined and Overworked

I took my family to the mall on Sunday for a short shopping trip. As we had things to do in the afternoon we went to Burger King for lunch thinking that it would be a quick painless experience. In fact it was the complete opposite of that and it felt like i had precious hours of my life ****** from me for a very mediocre burger.

We arrived at about 12:45, first of all there was only one cashier, one the first of the month in a busy mall? that's crazy. The cashier seems not to be coping very well with the shear numbers of orders she had to process and had to call a superior every 2nd or 3rd customer for assistance. We waited patiently inline for about 15 mins before taking our order. She messed up our order and once again had to call a superior to correct it. We finally had paid by 13:01.

We sat down got our drinks and waited and waited and waited. I mean really its supposed to be a fast food restaurant. We ended up waiting for 31 mins before our food was served. At no point did any of the staff let us know that there was going to be an extended waiting period, if i had known this i would have just gone to McDonald's or something. No one apologized for our obviously frustrating waiting period. It just seemed everyone on the day was just in over their head with the work.

The restaurant was also dirty, as we all know we should try eat neatly and empty our trays in the bin. This isn't the case for some people and they just leave the place a mess. Unfortunate but the staff should keep an eye on it. Many patrons had to clear tables themselves in order to sit down.

The food wasn't horrible but no attention to detail was given to the presentation or packing of the food. It was obvious the staff didn't care about it.

My overall experience at Burger King was extremely frustrating and i doubt ill go back to Burger King in Pietermaritzburg.
