Unfair treatment
Dear District Director / Circuit Manager, I am writing to formally request urgent district intervention regarding the admission of my child for Grade 8 at Buren High School, as the school’s admission process has resulted in an unreasonable delay and possible unfair treatment. I submitted an online application on 13 January, which was rejected without clear reasons. In an effort to resolve the matter, I went directly to Buren High School and completed a manual application form. I was assured by school staff that feedback would be provided within 10 working days, which I patiently waited for. To date, I have received no response or communication from the school. During this period, I have observed other parents arriving at the school and receiving immediate assistance with placements, while my child’s application has remained unattended. This raises serious concerns about inconsistency, unfair treatment, and possible ************** in the handling of applications. My child is supposed to begin Grade 8, yet has now been at home for almost a month due to this unresolved matter. This delay is negatively impacting my child’s education, emotional well-being, and readiness for the academic year. Buren High School is located only two minutes from our home, making it the safest and most practical option for my child. I was instead advised to consider a school located over an hour away, which is neither safe nor reasonable given the proximity of Buren High School and the availability of the application already submitted. I respectfully request that the District Office urgently investigates this matter and assists with the immediate placement of my child at Buren High School, or provides a written explanation for the continued delay. I trust that the District will uphold the principles of fairness, equality, and the constitutional right of every learner to access education without ************** or unnecessary barriers. I kindly request a written response within 48 hours, as the academic year is already in progress and further delays are unacceptable. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.
