Bundu Power refusing to replace a faulty inverter within 6 months of purchase!!!
on Sunday the 31st July 2023,my Luxpower 5kw inverter that was purchased from Bundu power on 23rd march 2023 stopped working during the day when the battery was full. The installer was puzzled and did his due diligence and confirmed he doesn`t know what happened to it.
On the 3rd August we then decided to return the inverter to Bundu Power for checks because it is still under warranty. It took Bundu Power 48 hours(7th August 2023) to notify me that the inverter was faulty(no description whatsoever of the fault).
On the 7th August 2023, I then requested them to replace the inverter as it was still too early for the inverter to be getting fixed. It broke on the 4th month since purchase. I was then told that my request was submitted to the supplier as Bundu Power doesn`t hold the warranty.
This morning,10th August 2023,I enquire on the progress of issuing a new inverter and I am told that the supplier is still busy testing the inverter and they will not just simply issue a new replacement ,I should wait for a response from the supplier.
Through this whole process, the only unsolicited communication I received from Bundu Power was that the device was booked in for investigations(on the day I returned it to them) Other than that, they do not bother to send satus updates or information regarding turn around times. This is so unsettling, and it doesn`t seem to bother the after sales team as opposed to the sales team that are quick with quotes and follow -up calls/e-mails regarding the quote.
My interpretation of this action is that I am denied my request for a replacement inverter, whilst the supplier comfortably tests and re-tests the device. I sit bearing load-shedding and power outages, whilst I paid for a defective inverter. The device must have been tested when quality assurance was done before sales.
Guys, be warned about Bundu Power! If your inverter breaks, you might sit for over a month without an inverter.Even if it breaks within 6 months, they do not subscribe to the CPA s55-56.

This practice is the same amoungst all resellers and suppliers of products. It is not unique to Bundu Power or Lux Power.
As soon as the supplier gives us feedback it will be communicated to you as we have done throughout the process. The CPA does allow for goods to go through an assessment phase.

At that point ,I requested for replacement of the device to which the resonse was that the supplier has been notified and I should wait.Only when I enquired,7 days after initial handing in of device did the story change to that the supplier is re-testing the device and will respond. No time frame has been given for when the supplier will respond. And no indication is given about what further test are being done, since it has already been established that the device is faulty only 4 months in operation.
This expectation that the inverter would stop working within 6 months was not communicated, as I was given a warranty period of over 5 years. It`s almost as if it is normal to expect the inverter to stop working this early and then undergo repairs for the rest of the device`s life.
To say I am disappointed in the way I have been treated by Bundu Power is an understatement. How many days is until further notice? Surely there is a standard time for responses similar to mine especially at an organization of your size? Why do I get patronized by given open-ended responses, right from the beginning?
Is re-testing going to render the device not faulty? Is the refusal to issue a new device based on the fact that they are all probably faulty and is a matter of time?If that`s not the case,I fail to see what the issue would be to refuse replacement of a faulty device and has been labelled as such by your organisation?
After payment,I am now at your mercy.I wouldn`t be surprised if Tomorrow I am told that the device is not faulty where as it proved to be faulty at my house and when tested last week.

I have paid now for my loan, that I acquired to buy the solar system ,for over 3 months with no use of the system. In addition to the loan, I still incur Eskom charges for the power that I`m using since I have no access to the solar system as a whole.(the rest of the system is useless with no inverter)
Anybody considering doing business with bundu power, should check my story to get an insight of how you would probably be treated.
