Be wary of selling gold to bulliongoldbuyers.co.za @ The Glen Shopping Centre

on 30 jan '23, i took my elderly frail mother to Bullion Gold Buyers at the Glen Shopping Centre, JHB South. She wanted to sell unwanted gold jewellery to cover some medical costs. Oria their consultant tested items and they were 9kt gold. i mentioned i wanted to sell. during our interaction twice i asked the 9kt gold price per gram they were buying at. i never got answer. he gave a price and were paid by eft. the 9kt price per gram on internet for 9kt gold on the day i sold was R399/gram we got R186/gram, less than half the price. Had i know the rate Oria gave us, i would not have sold at that price. Oria should have disclosed the price per gram when i was enquiring, however i think he is expert in tricking sellers. i felt that we were cheated and ****** of approx R8k. The next day i checked prices with other gold buyers and they were offering around R300 - R330/gram. There were other factors that i found very suspicious, like them not showing me the grams on the scale and not packing all items in the bag, on counter in front od me. i felt he kept distracting and diverting us. oria cut off a spare link from the one link bracelet and did not include in sealed packet, which is also suspicious. the past few days this bad experience has been haunting me and felt that as a consumer my right were violated and that i should not be taken advantage of. Today i called HO and spoke to COO and they said that i agreed on price and that their is nothing they can do, as the gold had already been sent to smelters. when i went to the centre that day i confronted oria re our dealings on 30th jan. HO has already alerted him that i had called. when i enquired re the spare link he cut off, he mentioned that the link was silver plated of which it was not. i am also of the opinion that not all items were packed in the sealed bag after weighing. i am also of opinion that they did not give me the correct weight reading. When i checked their website today, there is no active gold prices displayed. when i called the COO this morning and asked the 9 kt gold price they buying at he gave me R285/gram, when i confronted Oria today at the Glen Shopping Center and asked the 9kt/gram price he quoted R181, so a big discrepancy in prices. I will never deal with this company again. Their 'How It Works' button on their website, is definitely not what i experienced. I fell prey to their dealings.
