Website inaccurate, staff in store unhelpful

Since lockdown I’ve been doing all my shopping online, but when I needed a new part for our kitchen tap I decided to go into Builder’s Warehouse in Edenvale to ensure that I got the right part. First, however, I did an online search to ensure that the branch I went to had stock of what I needed. According to their website, the branch I went to had nine of the item in stock. However when I got there I found that they didn’t have any, nor a suitable substitute.

I stuck around the shop for some time hoping that with the help of the manager a solution would be found, but no such luck. After a half hour battle the salesman told me to try the shop across the road. Unfortunately by that time the shops were due to close in five minutes, making it impossible to get there in time. If he’d mentioned that shop sooner, I might have got what I needed instead of wasting my time and petrol and potentially exposing myself and my elderly mother to Covid-19 for no reason.
