Unpleasant experience
Had the most unpleasant experience at Builders Warehouse. I enquired about a battery for my gate remote by the kiosk that cuts keys in ailse 31. The lady told me batteries can be found by the tills. I asked her how would I know which battery to purchase. She then called a colleague named Nhlanhla. He told me which batteries to buy. I asked him how do I put them in. He told me to open the remote. I had no clue how to do this and asked if he can assist me. He said he can but he will have to charge me R20. I agreed and before I walked off to continue with the rest of my shopping I asked him if the R20 'assisting fee' will be added to my bill as Im paying by card. He asked if I cant pay him in cash. I said I only have a card. He was instantly irritated by me and mumbled something to his lady colleague in an African language. I felt like such a bother. While he put the battery in for me I asked where hooks can be found. Barely looking up, he said: "try ailse 26". I went there couldnt find it. Went back to him to collect my remote and said I couldnt find the hooks. He said I must ask the lady working in that ailse. I went to ailse 26, asked the lady and she said ailse 31. The very ailse he is working in! I can only make the conclusion that this is an extremely spiteful and unhelpful employee. Please dont offer to assist me in return for cash. I will definitely take my business elsewhere and wont 'bother' you again. I will much rather support my local family owned hardware store. Even if it costs me a little more.
