UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

I shall begin by saying that Builders Warehouse is not a place I wish to support in the future. I am utterly disappointed with my experience.

Purchased 5 Bamboo Cane Fences online last year and there was NO DISCLAIMER provided so that I could make an informed decision whether I wanted to spend almost R8000 on these products. Since the fences were brand new and had a laquer finish and 12 month guarantee we trusted that they would be suitable.

After experiencing the cracking, splitting and horribly intrusive noises at random hours of the day and night for a period of 3 months, I decided that this is not at all the quality I was hoping for. (Please bear in mind that the fences are placed along vibracrete walls that are surrounding three different homes. The noises are embarrasing.) I needed my grievences to be heard and I knew that I could only try to get a full refund on the unused, originally packaged 5th bamboo cane fence which was laying in my courtyard and under 12 month guarantee.

I was informed via email from the supplier that the label attached to the fences (which stated care and maintanence) was his disclaimer against the cracking and splitting. Had this stated clearly that it was a DISCLAIMER we would have read it immediatelly. He claimed this "MAY" happen on very hot days as the air inside heats up causing it to crack. and wanted to replace the fences with new ones however the cracking "MAY" happen again.

This discaimer should have been stated on the Builders Website and then I would not have purchased the fences at all. Why would I pay such a large sum of money for products destined to crack, split and be a source of noise nuisance. They also appear to show signs of fading already and I would have only have had them for 8 months on the 5th February.

I pushed hard and did get the 5th fence collected and refunded.

These fences will most definately crack, split and be noisey. Do you really want to pay for that. Think about it. I have asked what exactly does the 12 month guarantee cover. No answer and I posed the question on the 1st December. I have kept asking a variety of different people.

I am trying to get Builders to put a disclaimer on their website in regards to these fences so that other people do not fall into the trap that I did.

This review is my way of venting to the public as well as informing whoever may read this to think carefully before purchasing these products.

I do not wish to have any further communication with Builders Customer Care (only to delete my account once my refund has been removed), the Tableview branch or the supplier. I am well entitled to my opinion whether you like it or not.
