Steer clear of Ryobi and Builders Warehouse.
Today I write this review frustrated and appalled with the service I have received between Builders warehouse PMB and Ryobi. I bought a Ryobi inverter max petrol generator on the 09th July 2022 and on 9th of December 2022 I went to turn the generator off after 2 hour loadshedding session and noticed that the welds around the ****ler had all broken and that the exhaust had snapped a bolt on the exhaust manifold. This generator was kept indoors when not in use and was on a veranda undercover when in use and very well cared for and was not damaged by myself. On the 10th of December I returned it to Builder warehouse in Pietermaritzburg and they sent it away. After no reply I contacted them on the 15 of January and asked them for an update and got an answer of that it is with Ryobi, then on the 20th I phone again and get a quote for R1600 to repair the unit. This generator is still under warranty and the problem was caused by a manufacturing problem not misuse. Why must I cover the costs if the unit was made poorly. Since then I have told them to replace the unit or only fix what is covered under warranty and send it back. I have received 3 calls to inform me that it will be R1600 to cover the costs and a service. Its is now the 31st of January 2023 and have not had any Joy with builders or Ryobi. I will never buy a Ryobi product again if this is the service I get and builders warehouse has poor customer service as they do not care to fix the problem.
