Special service from Builders Warehouse

I wanted to buy a garden sieve and logged into the Builders app to see if such was available. Firstly, I was very unimpressed and annoyed by the search facility; I entered "Garden Sieve", which it accepted. Then the wheels came off - I was presented with an initial selection that did not contain any reference to my inquiry (other then the word GARDEN) and an option to "Load More".

I was then obliged to hit the "Load More" button a huge number of times (I lost count) and got right to the end without there being ay reference whatsoever to my query.

So I emailed Builders with a complaint, observing that their search facility was dreadful and just another example of an application created by people who never had to use it themselves and so had no idea how awful it is.

They responded the next day with a call from a manager who apologised for the trouble and informed me that there were no such items in their inventory.

This was followed by a call I received today, in which a lady advised me that Builders does not stock such items as they are essentially custom-made by a company in Cape Town, But she went on to advise that she had conducted a search for my requirement and found that it was freely available from Chamberlains - a direct competitor!

Whether or not the search facility will be smartened up I have no idea. (I can only hope . . .) But I must commend Builders for going the extra mile in an effort to meet my requirement, and for having the decency to refer me to a competitor.
