Shop and pay online, and NO product being delivered

8 July 2024 we bought a pressure pump online - it clearly indicated they have stock. The delivery date came and went. My husband phoned to enquire when delivery will be, just to be told that he needs to phone them on the 1st August 2024 if he still didn't receive delivery. Which he did.

We have been phoning them almost daily as to date (8 August 2024) we still have not received delivery. Their reason - supplier doesn't have stock. Today they say that we must wait until next week Thursday to check if they have received stock of the item in order for them to deliver.

Once again another company who gets paid for a product (which they advertised as having in stock and able to supply to clients) and then doesn't deliver. This is unacceptable.

It was pretty clear when we started phoning that of we didn't following, they wouldn't even have bothered to check themselves if we have received the product or not. The lack of care for PAYING customers is appalling. To me this constitutes THEFT - taking our money and not giving anything in return.
