Shocking delivery charge

If I could give zero stars I would. Last week I wanted to see how much it will cost to order 4 sandbags online. I went onto my local Builder's and places the order. They emailed me a quote....they wanted to charge me R24100 delivery!! Yes, you read that right. I email them this ludicrous quote and asked what the hell. The response: we charge per kilometre. So I look on the quote where on earth they are shipping from that it is so expensive - a suburb in Joburg. Even though I went onto my local branche's website and ordered from there. But that is besides the point. I worked out they wanted to charge me R17.54 / km. I order from PTA etc often and i pay R100 or so delivery. How do these ppl justify such a high delivery charge? They eventually amended the delivery charge to be R130, but I will not buy from them anymore. Not only is our local branch (Cape Gate, CT) legendary for their horrible customer service and rude staff, they feel it is ok to charge one an arm and a leg just because you order from Joburg and you want it delivered to CT. Disgusting
