Riverhorse, KZN - the Absolute Worst Builders Warehouse in South Africa

I enjoy my trips to Builders Warehouse, sometimes more than my budget would allow. In our local town, there's only a Builders Express, always on the ball, but doesn't carry everything. So, on 22-May-22, I planned a trip to the "big" Builders in Riverhorse Valley, some 40km away to get everything and then some for a Rainwater Harvesting system. What an absolute disaster. This was the worst experience ever - going to the dentist is a pleasure compared to this. A disorganised and poorly, haphazardly stocked store full of disinterested, unfriendly staff that clearly knows absolutely nothing about the products that they sell or has any knowledge of DIY or the construction trades. Apart from one hapless soul that showed me to the compressors when I asked for the booster pressure pumps to connect to a Jojo Tank, the cherry on top was the other person, only taking up space, that promptly led me to the electric light aisle, when I asked where they are hiding the Rhinolite. The prices on the shelves were all incorrect or non-existent, causing a continuous hunt for someone or someplace to scan an item to find out the price. Seriously, how can you even employ someone in the power tool accessory aisle that don't know what an SDS plus drill bit is. But, they leave the worst for last, just to add insult to injury - the checkout process. This was bad, bordering on insult, never before experienced since I visited Builders on their opening day and having visited stores to buy materials and tools from Polokwane to Cape Town and a host of places in-between. What a sad, sad let-down of a much anticipated trip. Next time I'll go to the "big" Build-It, that's lightly closer.
