Refusal of delivering stock that is paid for

I have placed an order ***) with Builders Warehouse (Zambezi branch) on the 29th of November and delivery was scheduled for the 2nd of December which has not taken place due to an internal dispute of delivering at Zeerust (North West).

I have paid for the entire order including delivery charge of R5 525. The order was placed online as they were the only supplier with available stock hence I was charged R5 525 for delivery. I was informed by John Hammond that Jan Striger & Salome Ndlovu are calling Mafikeng & Rustenburg to deliver on thier behalf...that to me was insulting and didn't make sense as those branches do not have stock.

I have never heard from anyone from the Zambezi office except through calling the call centre that acted as a messenger between myself and the Zambezi branch but I am still in the dark of when the delivery will be made as I am not taken serious as a a cash customer.

I want those bricks delivered first thing tomorrow morning, I do not owe anyone a cent and do not have time for staff incompetency and unprofessionalism. This is totally unacceptable, how do sell stock that you cannot deliver? Do you lack resources? Are your competitors better at that?

I want those bricks delivered ASAP

Dear Athena

This matter has been not been resolved as promised.

I received a call from Zambezi for the first time after they have invoiced me and enjoyed the pleasure of receiving my money.

They have come back with an inflated price of more than R15 000 for delivery. According to my calculations, I was invoiced R5 525 for delivery which means that Builders Warehouse pricing system calculated the rate per kilometer at R11.46 cents based on 482 total kilometers to be traveled (to and fro). This rate is even above the SARS highest rate of R6.65 per kilometer.

As a valued and protected consumer of this country, I will not allow to be de*****ed by Builders Warehouse due to ******** price fluctuations and inflation. The pricing was done by your system and I was charged a rate way above SARS rate.

The R15 000 now being required from me is totally *****ing from me as a customer after a transaction has been sealed and completed.

I am expecting this delivery tomorrow morning. I will not be de*****ed by Builders Warehouse.

Dear Athena,

The delivery was scheduled for the 2nd and this is causing a delay and unnecessary inconvenience. What is the debate about? I believe the formal procurement process was followed and it is expected to be fair, competitive, reliable and provide accurate pricing to customers. This is an important tool in the management structure and is the cornerstone of your business.

Please note section 19 (2) (a) of the Consumer Protection Act;

(a) the supplier is responsible to deliver the goods or perform the services—
(i) on the agreed date and at the agreed time, if any, or otherwise within a
reasonable time after concluding the transaction or agreement;
(ii) at the agreed place of delivery or performance; and
(iii) at the cost of the supplier, in the case of delivery of goods; or

I will not be bul**** by Builders Warehouse financially.

Athena,

I am still waiting for a written confirmation of the delivery date as per our telephonic conversation at midday.

This is has become a very tedious and unpleasant transaction. When I call Zambezi they give me the run around, no one is giving answers...you made an excuse about the weather...how is the rain going to affect the transportation of bricks? Is the quality that low that the rain would damage your products?

Please contact Koovan Govender to give you the exact date of delivery, this has been long overdue and construction is on a stand still because of this deliberate delay.
