REFUND ISSUE BUILDERS WAREHOUSE BUFFELSFONTEIN ROAD.

I purchased a Trimtech Trimmer 30 March 2023 from Builders Warehouse, Buffelsfontein Road, Port Elizabeth. On Saturday, 8 July I returned it (with great difficulty due to very slow service) and asked for a refund.

I was told it would have to be sent to the supplier for assessment.

I reiterated that I did not want the item back, or a replacement since it had only been very lightly used and therefore I had no faith in the brand.

No timeline was given and I was told that the supplier that does the assessment, only collects from Builders Warehouse on Wednesdays, and that if I wanted to speed matters up, I could take it to Builders Warehouse supplier myself (??).

Again, I reiterated that a refund was needed, not a repair or a replacement. Since then, no feedback despite 4 phone calls and 2 emails trying to establish what the situation was.

Today 24 July after 11 minutes of being placed on hold I am told that the repaired item will be dropped of at Builders Warehouse tomorrow and that I could collect it then.

I reiterated for the umpteenth time that did not want the item back. The assistant then demanded to know why I handed it in for repair??.

I asked to be put through to the manager and after much background chatting and giggling with colleagues from the assistant's end of the line was disconnected.

Perhaps now, via this forum, someone at Builders Warehouse with authority, and who values customer relations will take the initiative and rectify this situation.
