Promotional Sale ****

On the 7th February, I went to Builders Warehouse. There were Keter Factor Shed 8x6 promotions for R14 500 each. I mentioned that the item was selling for R13 800 at Makro and the on duty manager told me that he could give me the Shed at R14 000 each. I continued to do my shopping after I told the on duty manager that I will get the Sheds last.

When I wanted to check out, I went to the Front Desk to look for the manager.

An employee named Joy motioned for me to go to her counter and informed me that the R14 000 price tag for the Sheds will remain. After paying for all the supplies, I placed the receipt in my bag - I didn't have my glasses with me so I couldn't read the slip.

When I got home and skimmed through the receipt, I saw that I was charged R14 998 for the Shed instead of the agreed R14 000.

I went back to the store and spoke to Joy and the manager. They told me that they couldn't do anything for me. Not even refund R498 so that I would end up paying the promotional price of R14 500.

Very disappointed in the outcome. If the item was to be charged at R14 998, then why bother with the R14 500 promotion? Why lie about the R14 000 price tag when in actual fact, the store could not do anything?

I will buy supplies for my home renovation somewhere else.
